Garmin Topographic Maps Based on 1:24,000 USGS Quads:

Garmin's new TOPO U.S. 24K map series gives you the highest level of topographic detail available. Garmin started with 1:24,000 topo data for the U.S. and created regionalized coverage that is available on preprogrammed microSD cards with SD adapter. These new TOPO U.S. 24K regions will help ensure you're ready for your next backpacking, hiking or camping adventure. Coverage areas include:

1. Topo U.S. 24K Central Plains: Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas
2. Topo U.S. 24K Great Lakes: Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio
3. Topo U.S. 24K Mid-Atlantic: Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina
4. Topo U.S. 24K Mountain Central: Colorado and Utah
5. Topo U.S. 24K Mountain North: Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming
6. Topo U.S. 24K Mountain South: Arizona and New Mexico
7. Topo U.S. 24K Northern Plains: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Iowa
8. Topo U.S. 24K Northeast: New England states, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania
9. Topo U.S. 24K Northwest: Washington and Oregon
10. Topo U.S. 24K Southeast: Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida
11. Topo U.S. 24K Texas
12. Topo U.S. 24K West: California and Nevada

The coverage areas for the microSD products are smaller than the comparable DVD titles (Garmin Topo U.S. 24K DVD), but the microSD products do not require a computer to transfer the maps to the GPS receiver. However, note that the maps contained on the microSD card cannot be viewed or used on a computer.

The Garmin Topo U.S. 24K features include:

• Topographic 1:24,000 scale coverage
• Points of interest with thematic icons: parks, campgrounds, boat ramps, airports and others
• 3-D terrain shading on compatible units
• Elevation profile of routes on compatible units, so you can estimate terrain difficulty
• Routable roads and trails
• Searchable points of interest including visitor’s centers, camping and picnic areas, wilderness campsites, and more
• Detailed hydrographic features, including wetlands
• National, state and local parks, forests and recreational areas including conservation areas
• BLM Township and Range Section overlay; USGS quad name overlay.
