Trip Planning Synchronization Between PC and Compatible GPS Receiver:

Using your PC, you can select detailed maps tailored to your next trip and download map data directly to your compatible Garmin GPS. This screen shows what detailed map data from the MapSource City Navigator North America 2008 looks like on a PC. The Garmin MapSource City Navigator North America 2008 is compatible with numerous Garmin GPS receivers. For a complete list of compatible devices, look at the product compatibility table to the right of this Garmin information page.

Before you can download map detail to a data card or directly to your compatible Garmin GPS, you must “unlock” the MapSource City Navigator North America 2008 DVD. Simply follow the instructions on the included certificate to unlock the entire DVD. Next, download the data to a data card or to your compatible Garmin unit. Windows 2000 or newer, 256 MB RAM, at least 800 x 600 display, 16-bit color monitor, 2 GB free disk space, USB and/or serial port, Internet access for the unlock process.
